Ask a child to draw a scientist or engineer, and nine times out of ten, you’ll get a man with a lab coat. We want to break this stereotype. As technology continues to rapidly evolve, it is important to expose minority students to activities in STEM so that they have an equal opportunity and do not shy away from traditionally male-dominated fields. At STEM for FEM, we provide an exciting, highly-accessible learning environment, especially those who may not have the financial means to enrol in other costly tech or science programs. Early exposures to these male-dominated fields, such as the ones STEM for FEM provides, are life-changing and will close the wage gap and create a more equitable workforce for the future.
Our Program
Incredible Enrichment
STEM for FEM is a non-profit organization geared towards providing free science education to girls and other underrepresented gender identities in elementary and middle school. We make learning and exploration accessible to all, including those who may not have the resources or who believe STEM is 'not for them'.
Our workshops include a variety of hands-on activities and guest speaker presentations, as well as collaborative discovery and online learning. STEM for FEM is conducted through a variety of mediums, such as after-school events, summer workshops, and online meetings. Our curriculum spans all kinds of scientific concepts like chemistry, biology, physics, coding, engineering and design, and math.
